Last year Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna 'Gigi' Bryant passed in a tragic helicopter accident. They left behind Kobe's wife, Vanessa Bryant, and her three other daughters, Natalia (18), Bianka (4), and Capri (1). Gianna was just 13 at the time.
Now, Kobe's wife and mother of his children is honoring her late family members in the sweetest way, and her daughter Natalia is joining her in doing so.
Vanessa documented the process of getting "Mambacita", the nickname used for her late and prodigal basketball star, Gianna, on Instagram.
Prepping for the tattoo
Vanessa shared this clip of her tattoo artist, Nikko Hurtado drawing up the tat. "#nopressure" she tagged in the caption.
The inking begins
Vanessa gets cozy in the chair as she jams out to Beyoncé to distract her from the pain.
The creative process
She giggles in the chair as she explains that she prefers the single-needle look for her tattoos. She said it took her eight hours to decide on the font, and just five minutes to get tatted in the caption!
The final product
Vanessa finally shares an image of the finished product, complete with a dainty butterfly at the end of the tail.
Natalia gets inked too!
Buddy system: Vanessa also shared a video of her eldest Natalia getting a tattoo on her wrist, honoring her late father and sister. The jury is out on what exactly the tat reads or shows, but we are sure it turned out beautifully.
