The historical drama, starring Mary Rylance, Robert Pattinson and Johnny Depp, has a summer release date!
Based off of J.M. Coetzee's novel, Waiting for the Barbarians, the film follows a magistrate as he reevaluates his loyalty to his nation. The historical drama is directed by Columbian filmmaker Ciro Gurrea, known for his Academy Award nominated film, Embrace of the Serpent.
The film also stars Greta Scacchi, David Dencik, Sam Reid, Harry Melling, Bill Milner, and Gana Bayarsaikhan. In 2019, the film premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired the U.S. distribution rights as the film is set to be released on VOD on August 7th. Pattinson fans will also be able to see him in the upcoming anticipated film Tenet, set to hit theaters July 31st.
