Taylor Swift's Re-Recording Of 'Love Story' Debuts In Hilarious Commercial With Ryan Reynolds

That's Ryan Reynolds if you couldn't tell...

Since her announcement that Taylor Swift would be re-recording all of her past albums, swifties have been eager to hear new and possibly updatesd takes on Swift's classic hits.

Now fans are getting their first listen with a sample of the re-record of her song Love Story. The song has been used in a new hilarious commercial for Match.com! The ad stars Ryan Reynolds as satan who goes on a date with the year 2020.

Taylor quote tweeted the ad:

She explained that while the re-recording of her albums is far from complete, she was happy to offer the song a bit early to help out a friend. Who would've thought that friend would be Ryan Reynolds in a satan costume!

Swift announced she would be recording new versions of her album following a scandal that put an unfortunate spotlight on the music industry. Her former record label made the heart breaking move to sell rights to her early music in a $300 million dollar deal. That deal put the ownership of her music in the hands of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's manager Scooter Braun. Swift and Braun did not have a good working relationship which meant the 10-time Grammy winner would have little to no control over her past work.

The initial contract she had signed with the record label made it so Taylor Swift could not perform or record her past work without their permission.

The singer expressed her heartbreak in a blog post:

"For years, I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work. Instead I was given an opportunity to sign back up to Big Machine Records and 'earn' one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in. I walked away because I knew once I signed that contract, Scott Borchetta would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future. I had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past."

Now that the contract has finally expired, Swift is hitting the studio to re-record and produce her albums with new artwork and licensing.

Her 2008 song Love Story won the CMA award for Music Video of the Year.
