Happy Thanksgiving SNL fans! We're reviewing some of the funniest SNL Thanksgiving skits from the past few decades to get the laughs going for the upcoming holiday.
Thanksgiving Foods
First up on our list of favorite Thanksgiving skits is of course Season 42's "Thanksgiving Foods" with Kristen Wiig, well actually with Wisten Kriig. Sharing what's being served at her celebration alongside Marcus (Kenan Thompson) and Darnell (Bobby Moynihan), Wisten's awkward presentations of her holiday dishes is extremely uncomfortable, but also extremely hilarious. Hats off to Kriig's cooking!
Weekend Update: Guy Fieri on Thanksgiving
Next up on our list of best Thanksgiving sketches, Bobby Moniyhan's impression of Guy Fieri on Thanksgiving is the "full-throttle" cooking guide we definitely didn't need. As one of the most outrageous, and undeniably entertaining, Weekend Update guests, of course Guy Fieri had to give us his famous Turduckenryepigcowcowhorsenishgamehen recipe for our own Thanksgiving feasts.
Weekend Update: Adam Sandler on Thanksgiving
Next on our list is another classic Weekend Update guest, but this time its just Adam Sandler. Singing his notorious Thanksgiving song from Season 18, Sandler made sure to make his love for Turkey known, as well as sprinkling in some random, yet certainly comical lines to rhyme. You can't go a Thanksgiving without singing along to "The Turkey Song" to celebrate!
Thanksgiving Parade
Lots of memorable laughs come from another Thanksgiving skit from Season 42. As two couples join together to watch the most unforgettable Thanksgiving Day Parade, the balloons floating by the NYC apartment window seem to get too uncomfortably close. Kristen Wiig, Bobby Moynihan, and Mikey Day deliver the most over-the-top facial expressions to make this sketch terrifying, unpleasant, and absolutely hilarious.
Debbie Downer: Thanksgiving Dinner
What's a SNL Thanksgiving skit rundown without Debbie Downer? Next on our list is everybody's favorite Rachel Dratch character, Debbie Downer, at her Thanksgiving meal from Season 30. Ruining her holiday feast with buzzkills like feline AIDs and food poisoning, Debbie made sure that everyone left the table before the meal was over, even including the turkey itself.
Thanksgiving Dinner
Throwing it all the way back to Season 5, Bill Murray made it known that he was ready to graduate from the kid's table at Thanksgiving. While objecting to his residency at the kid's table, a pretty childish argument between the four adults erupts, proving that they're really not ready to sit upstairs just quite yet.
The Californians: Thanksgiving
Next up on our list is the Thanksgiving special from everyone's favorite SNL soaps drama, "The Californians". With news of an unusual love affair, Stewart's illegitimate baby, and Tyler's reemergence from the dead, this Californian Thanksgiving feast is full of the most totally radical laughs. This holiday installment of "The Californians" brought out the best of the Season 38 cast, featuring Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Vanessa Bayer, Kenan Thompson, Taran Killam, Tim Robinson, Nasim Pedrad, and Jeremy Renner as host.
Penelope: Thanksgiving
Wrapping up our SNL Thanksgiving skit favorites is another memorable performance by Kristen Wiig from Season 36. Starring as the champion of one-upping, Wigg plays Penelope, who can't help but be the best Thanksgiving volunteer at a local soup kitchen. Dishing out some massive plates, bringing her entire family, and announcing that her ancestors came over on the Mayflower, Penelope tops the cake by declaring herself as the Queen of Thanksgiving.
