Rachel Lindsay Speaks Out

Rachel's season of The Bachelorette is regarded as one of the franchise's best seasons. Many fans were hoping the trend of diverse casting would continue, but that is not the case. Lindsay has been outspoken about fighting for racial equality, so she is speaking out again regarding the state of The Bachelor franchise.

Her Comments

Lindsay is ready to dissociate with the franchise fully if they do not immediately address their "embarrassing" diversity problem. In an interview with Variety, Lindsay says:

"We are on 45 presidents. And in 45 presidents there's been one Black president. You are almost on par to say you're more likely to become the President of the United States than you are a Black lead in this franchise. That's insane. That's ridiculous."

Fan Favorite Mike Johnson

When asked who Rachel Lindsay would like to see as the next Bachelor or Bachelorette, she said Mike Johnson from Hannah Brown's season is a must. Mike Johnson was a fan favorite from day one as the sweet, charming Air Force veteran stole America's hearts.

"I would be thrilled if he [Johnson] was the bachelor. I think a lot of people would, there was such a huge movement to make him the bachelor last season. I gave a whole spiel when I found out he wasn't, if it's him everybody knows where I stand!"

Rachel Lindsay is hoping viewers and The Bachelor franchise can learn and grow from this experience. With filming delayed, bach fans can watch the spinoff Listen to Your Heart (which Lindsay was a judge on).
