After weeks of anticipation, we finally have the complete list of hosts for the "YouTube Pride 2021" Global Livestream. A top-notch group of LGBTQ+ celebrities, including Sir Elton John and Demi Lovato, will be hosting Pride celebrations from their respective YouTube channels.
The YouTube livestream is a zesty multi-hour event infested with stars and designed to link US and UK communities in commemoration of Pride month. To this end, the stream will feature giving challenges and music performances that pay tribute to the LGBTQ+ community. Various special guests, including Peppermint and Tyler Oakley, are scheduled to make cameo appearances as well.
The full list of emcees includes RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars winner Trixie Mattel, YouTuber Daniel Howell, Elton John's husband David Furnish, and musician Olly Alexander with YouTuber Mawaan Rizwan. Each of these celebrities will encourage viewers to donate to pro-LGBTQ+ charities like the Elton John AIDS Foundation, The Trevor Project, and akt.
Interwoven with the stream will be various viewer-submitted videos from users and creators, featuring questions for the hosts and stories of pride. The intrepid web designers at JA Films have created a website where anyone can submit those videos until June 18th, though not all will be featured in the virtual special.
"YouTube Pride 2021" premieres Friday, June 25th at 3 PM EST (12 PM PST or 8 PM BST) on YouTube.
