GLAAD has partnered with the FREE THE WORK platform to create a new podcast highlighting LGBTQIA+ voices in filmmaking.
In a June 3 press release, GLAAD announced a six-episode interview-style podcast series titled ""FREE THE WORK Focus: Pride" in celebration of pride month. The podcast will shed light on members of the LGBTQIA+ community who work behind the camera and raise awareness through conversations about LGBTQIA+ representation and diversity in Hollywood.
According to the press release:
"The premiere episode will be hosted by GLAAD Director of Entertainment Media, Jeremy Blacklow and will feature out Pakistani-Canadian-American film and TV actor, writer, producer and director Fawzia Mirza and Andria Wilson Mirza, Director of ReFrame, the joint gender equity coalition from Women in Film and the Sundance Institute.. The series will also include interviews and conversations with Russian Doll creator/director Leslye Headland, Legendary Executive Producer Sydney Baloue, Emmy-nominated Razor Tongue writer/actor/producer Rain Valdez, and Disclosure director Sam Feder."
This podcast is an extension of the already formed partnership between GLAAD and FREE THE WORK. FREE THE WORK is an organization that works to increase acceptance and diversity by representing talent in underrepresented communities. Given GLAAD's commitment to serving the LGBTQ community, this collaboration is a perfect fit.
