Kamala Khan will be the the newcomer for Marvel Studios upcoming show, "Ms. Marvel."
Iman Vellani will play "Kamala Khan" as she will be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe this June. Vellani is set to portray a Pakistani American teenager from Jersey City, New Jersey, who admires Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel).
The comic of Ms. Marvel was created in 2013, making Kamala the first Muslim superhero. It's no secret that she's able to shapeshift and exhibit super strength. Now, though, viewers get the chance to witness Ms.Marvel's other powers-- like creating stepping stones in mid-air and producing energy blasts. Aramis Knight will play the vigilante known as "Red Dagger."
"Ms. Marvel" was written and executively produced by Hulu miniseries "Four Weddings and a Funeral's" Bisha K. Ali, alongside director and Oscar-winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Directors of "Bad Boys for Life," Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, were also involved with production.
Once the six-episode miniseries finishes, Vellani is supposedly set to reprise the role of Ms. Marvel for the feature film sequel of "Captain Marvel" called "The Marvels." The movie will release February 23rd, 2023, as Vellani will accompany Brie Larson's "Carol Danvers" and Teyonah Parris’ "Monica Rambeau" (WandaVision).
Check out "Ms. Marvel" on Disney+ June 8th.
