Kelly Dodd ultimately blames being herself for her exit on Real Housewives of Orange County, as Bravo lets her go with no explanations.

In an interview for SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live, the former reality star sat next to her husband Rick Leventhal going into detail about how she was completely "blindsided" by her dismissal on the show.

"I had no idea," Dodd revealed. "Actually I was completely blindsided."

Dodd said she got the call from the shows production company Evolution the day the news had already been broken to the public saying "I would hate to say this... but we are not going to ask you back for next season."

When Dodd wanted to know the reason for her firing after four seasons the producer told her that "Bravo wanted to take a different direction than you."

The former reality star then asked the producer about her Q ratings (or her rankings of popularity on the show).

"This is a business. We're here to sell advertising. This is how we make the money, right? I mean, pushing the needle. So I said, 'Was it because I wasn't popular enough or what was it?'" Dodd said. "And he said, 'This is the first time ever that Bravo did not share your Q ratings with us. All of you guys.'"

Leventhal believes that his wife was the most popular housewife on the show and that she brought in all of the ratings.

"She was the brightest spark on that show... I was very surprised [by her firing] because even though she's been so controversial, she's still great television."

Dodd feels her previous controversial remarks about COVID-19, "God's way of thinning the herd," and wearing a hat that was deemed insensitive towards the Black Lives Matter movement was what caused her being let go.

'Ultimately I got fired because of myself. I'm the one who got myself fired... I was causing them a lot of grief. I was causing them a lot of trouble. And you know, I'm sorry about that. Like, I feel bad."

Elizabeth Lyn Vargas and Braunwyn Windham-Burke will also not return to the next season but Heather Dubrow will rejoin the cast. Windham-Burke had exposed Dodd's texts to her after both of their exits on the show, blaming Windham-Burke's expression of her political views as the fault.

"This was your fault. We'd still be on the show if you didn't make things so dark and ugly and brought all that political 'woke' BS. Your lies about me, calling me a racist and a homophobe were horribly destructive and your phony storylines didn't help either."

Dodd had a lot to say about Windham-Burke on Jeff Lewis Live, noting on air that she was "probably the worst human being" Dodd had ever had to work with.

"She just wanted so much attention on her. She told everybody that it was going to be her show and that she wants her own show... She was just a fake wacko," Dodd expressed. "... I don't believe anything she has to say, she is a liar."
