On Monday, June 20th, the former ‘Bachelorette’ posted a vague statement on her Instagram story, writing,
“Statement: no we aren’t together.”
After a few hours of speculation over the couple’s split, Hersey confirmed the news on his Instagram story,
“As Katie stated earlier, we are no longer dating. This decision was not made lightly, and it was obviously not an easy one to make.”
The two's relationship didn't flourish until after "The Bachelorette," as Hersey was let go on the first night. Thurston became engaged to Canadian wildlife conservationist, Blake Moynes, in August 2021. The engagement ended in October 2021.
Thurston and Hersey developed a friendship during her past engagement, and only a month after her split with Moynes, Thurston and Hersey went public with their relationship.
The "Bachelorette" contestant expressed gratitude for fans, sharing,
“I appreciate every one of you that has supported us throughout this journey. We could not (and would not) be here without you.”
Unfortunately, this was not the first breakup this month in Bachelor Nation. Former Bachelorette Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya, shared their separation this past Friday, June 17th.
Thurston and Young both began their Bachelor journeys as contestants on season 21 of "The Bachelor" with Matt James. They became the Bachelorettes for seasons 17 and 18, and while their journeys with John and Nayte have ended, fans of the duo are optimistic that they are one step closer to finding their "people."- Anisha Ramakrishna Reveals Her Personal Stuggles In New ... ›
