Kanye West held his first campaign rally over the weekend.

Rapper turned presidential candidate Kanye West delivered emotional remarks during his first campaign stop in Charleston, South Carolina.

At 5 p.m., a day before the state's deadline to file signatures as an independent candidate, the rally took place at the Exquis Event Center in front of a small crowd of fans in front of an American flag. West donned a bulletproof vest with the year "2020" shaved into his hairline. According to ABC News:

West invited a couple of young women from the audience to speak on stage about issues that concerned them, such as education inequity and police brutality. He then launched into a speech that touched on a wide range of topics, from his battle with opioids to his business dealings with Adidas, before elaborating on his pro-life stance.

West stated some controversial views on Harriet Tubman:

"Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slave, she just had the slaves go work for other white people,"

West cried when he spoke about his father's wish to abort him and when his wife was pregnant with their first child. West and wife Kim Kardashian West have four children and stated at the rally:

"I almost killed my daughter. I love my daughter...God wants us to create."

West received a mixed reaction when he stated:

"No more Plan B -- Plan A,"

West went on to clarify that abortion should be legal but only to those who need the support due to specific circumstances. The example he used was:

"The maximum increase would be everybody that has a baby gets a million dollars or something in that range,"

West stated he felt marijuana "should be free" then continuing with a Q&A with the audience. A livestream event revealed a few hundred people were at the rally as registered guests, however there was no registration or RSVP information given on the website.

Twitter is currently reacting to the rally with the hashtag #KanyeWest trending.

West made it clear running for the White House is not to promote his music sales. West still faces a tough battle dealing with filing for candidates and the next deadline is August 3.
