Netflix has shared a first look into the world of Wednesday Addams, played by "Scream" star Jenna Ortega. "WEDNESDAY" will follow Wednesday as she attends boarding school and develops psychic powers. According to Variety, during her time at Nevermore Academy, Wednesday "investigates a supernatural killing spree connected to her own family’s history."
The Netflix show will be directed by Tim Burton, with season one having a total of eight episodes, according to IMDb. Familiar faces are set to star alongside Ortega. Catherine Zeta-Jones will play Wednesday's mom Morticia Addams and Luis Guzmán will play the family's patriarch, Gomez. Christina Ricci, who famously played Wednesday in "The Addams Family" and "Addams Family Values," is set to play an unnamed character in the series. She is listed to appear in all eight episodes.
Jenna shared a quick behind the scenes selfie to her Instagram after the reveal was shared on YouTube. The series is set to premiere in Fall 2022.
