Impractical Jokers Stars On Filming and Being Recognized in NYC

The Impractical Jokers recently hit their 200th Episode! Advocate Channel chats with stars Sal and Murr about the challenges they face filming their next season.

With their 8th Season in the books, Impractical Jokersis unstoppable! The hit series recently aired their 200th episode and the cast is working non-stop to keep the jokes coming.

Just like the intro says, this hidden-camera series stars "four lifelong friends who compete to embarrass each other". Since Impractical Jokers premiered in 2011, the four goofballs: Joe, Sal, Q, and Murr; also known as The Tenderloins, have become some of the most famous comedians on TV. Luckily for us, Advocate Channel met with stars Sal Vulcano and James Murray at the WarnerMedia Upfront.

The two tell us their main goal: to simply make people laugh. James Murray tells Advocate Channel:

"I think it reminds people of the way TV used to be, and it's just good old-fashioned fun!"

Fun until something goes wrong! The stars spill on how sometimes the pranks don't go as planned! Sal Vulcano fills us in:

"Maybe it'll be the finale! All the times the police were called will be the finale of Jokers!"

I can't get enough of these guys, and neither can anyone else. The show was so successful, it was awarded it's own spinoff: Impractical Jokers: Inside Jokes. Their success has even expanded past TV, selling out comedy shows across the US.

But this fame and success comes with a price! With the Jokers becoming recognizable, the group has started filming in some different spots, such as Miami and Hawaii. Advocate Channel correspondent Josh McBride asked the stars how they deal with being recognized while filming Impractical Jokers. Sal tells us they still try to focus on filming in NYC, using the crowded streets to find new people who haven't seen the show.

"We make sure people don't know us because then the show wouldn't work, we just keep doing it until we get that person. We do it until we get it right."

And they always do! With Season 9 premiering August 8, I can't wait to see more awkward moments and cringe-worthy gags.
