(DEVELOPING STORY) Celebrities and former Glee co-stars are mourning the loss of Naya Rivera on social media. The actress' death was confirmed Monday afternoon during a press conference at Lake Piru.

During the press conference, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub went on to explain that Rivera's body was likely concealed by shrubbery on the lake floor. The star was reported missing on July 8th when her and her son went swimming in the Southern California lake. The Sheriff also shared that Rivera's son, Josey, shared his account of the events. Josey told authorities that the two went for a swim, and Rivera took him out of the water placed him onto the boat deck, before ultimately slipping below the surface. Ayub said,

"She mustered enough energy to get her son back onto the boat, but not enough to save herself."

The stars are taking to social media to react to the news of Rivera's death.
