Celebrities We Lost In 2020

Remembering the special lives we lost in the entertainment world this year.

2020 has taken the lives of many legendary stars. Here is a list of some of the celebrities who have passed away this year.


Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant, former NBA superstar and his daughter Gigi tragically passed away in January of this year. The two lost their lives due to a helicopter crash.

Naya Rivera

Naya Rivera was an actress and singer widely known for her role as Santana Lopez in the hit show Glee. Rivera lost her life in July after saving her 4-year-old son during their boat trip at Lake Piru.

Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman lost his battle to colon cancer this past August. The actor is known for his portrayal of T'Challa in the Black Panther, as well as Da 5 Bloods, and Marshall.

Alex Trebek

Alex Trebek was a 35 year host of the game show Jeopardy! The host had been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer in March 2019 and lost that battle this past November.

Carl Reiner

Carl Reiner, notable for his work in comedy and The Dick Van Dyke Show passed away in June. Reiner died at the age of 98 due to natural causes.

Pop Smoke

Pop Smoke, Bashar Barakah Jackson, was a rapper who released three chart topping albums. The star lost his life in a home invasion where he was shot by four masked gunmen.

Lee Phillip Bell

Lee Phillip Bell was a talk show host as well as the co creator of The Young and the Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful.She passed away this February at her home at the age of 91.

Rocky Johnson

Rocky Johnson was a professional wrestler, WWE hall of famer, as well as father of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. He passed away from a heart attack in January.

Kirk Douglas

Kirk Douglas was a legendary Hollywood star. He was known for his roles in classic Hollywood films such as The Fury, Lonely Are The Brave, Detective Story. He passed away in February from the effects of a severe stroke.

Fred Willard

Fred Willard, actor and comedian known for his roles on Modern Family and Everybody Loves Raymond passed away on May 15th. His cause of death was cardiac arrest. He is constantly remembered through his many appearances on TV, as well as his iconic comedy career.

Nick Cordero

Nick Cordero was an actor and Broadway star. Cordero was hospitalized for 3 months after testing positive for the coronavirus, eventually causing his death at the age of 41 in July.

Kelly Preston

Kelly Preston was an actress known for her work in Jerry Maguire, Gotti, and For Love of the Game. The star lost her life to Breast Cancer at the age of 57.

Regis Philbin

Regis Philbin was a legendary television presenter as well as long time talk show host. He also holds the Guiness World Record for most hours on television! He passed away at the age of 88 due to natural causes.

Eddie Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen, was a singer and songwriter known as the guitarist for the iconic rock band Van Halen. He passed away in October due to a stroke.

Jeremy Bulloch

Jeremy Bulloch was known for playing Boba Fett in the original Stars Wars trilogy. The actor passed away at the age of 75 after living Parkinson's disease for years.

Charley Pride

Charley Pride, a legend within the country music game, lost his life to complications from Covid-19. He passed away in December at the age of 86.

Adam Schlesinger

Adam Schlesinger was an iconic songwriter and record. He produced many of the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's original songs. Schlesinger passed away from complications of the coronavirus at the age of 52 in April.

Sean Connery

Sean Connery was an actor known for his portrayal of James Bond in the seven Bond films. He passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in October.

Diana Rigg

Diana Rigg was an actress known for roles in The Avengers and Game of Thrones. The star passed away at the age of 82 due to cancer in March.

Kenny Rogers

Kenny Rogers was a songwriter, musician, and actor. Rogers was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009. Rogers passed away at the age of 81 due to natural causes.
