After two years of postponements and cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Coachella is finally happening!
Harry Styles is headlining this year’s Coachella festival, joining Kanye (Ye) West and Billie Eilish, as well as EDM group Swedish House Mafia. Billboard confirmed the news after a festival flyer began making rounds online.
This will be the first performance at the festival by Styles. He recently completed the most extensive North American tour by any major artist since the pandemic began in early 2020. Although he has not released a new album since “Fine Line” in December of 2019, rumors about new music have circulated in recent weeks.
The news comes nearly two years after the 2020 iteration – which was slated to be headlined by Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean.
The bookings came after the heavy metal band backed out and the festival axed Travis Scott from their 2022 roster following the Astroworld tragedy in November. Ocean will instead headline the festival in 2023.
The 2020 edition of Coachella, initially set for April, was moved to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic before being canceled entirely. Soon enough, as the pandemic continued, the 2021 festival was also canceled.
Coachella 2022 is currently set for April 15-17 and April 22-24 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California.
