Could Queen B of the Upper East Side make a return for the Gossip Girl reboot on HBO Max? For all the die hard OG Gossip Girl fans, don't give up hope just yet-- Leighton Meester hasn't officially closed that door.

Meester played the iconic Blair Waldorf in the original Gossip Girl series. Many fans have been hoping the cast of the original series would return in the reboot. Queen B herself hasn't quite closed the door to the Upper East Side.

In a recent interview with Fox 5 New York, she was asked about making an appearance on the HBO Max reboot.

Meester said,

"Yeah, I don't know—I mean, you know, I'm doing a junket today, this has been asked a couple times, I'm going, ‘I don't know maybe."

Could this be the hope Gossip Girl fans have been waiting for? It seems it is still up in the air right now but she did share that she is a fan of the reboot.

"I will say, you know…I've watched the new one, I do think it's really awesome."

Meester added:

"I feel like they're doing a whole new thing… and I don't think that we don't fit in but—or I can only speak for myself—I don't feel like I fit in."

She shared her appreciation for the new characters in the reboot, but said it's nice to sit back and leave the story to them, saying,

"I feel really good sort of sitting back and leaving it to the kids, to the young, new generation, they're doing so awesome."

Gossip Girl has become an iconic series, something Meester is still in shock about.

"It's interesting that it can continue to be something that means a lot to even this generation. And so, the fact that they can capture some of that magic while making it its own thing is quite a feat and really cool."

In the true fashion of her character Blair Waldorf, she left us questioning what her move will be, saying,

"So, that's all I'll say for now, you know. You never say never."
