With August quickly approaching, MTV is preparing for their highly-anticipated event the Video Music Awards. The VMAs are set to take place on August 30th from the Barclays Center in New York City, with the full list of nominations coming out on Thursday, July 30th.
The iconic award show is getting fans excited with the announcement of releasing the nominations on Thursday. Categories that fans can vote on include Best New Artist, Best Music Video, Viewer's Choice, the Video Vanguard Award and many more. One category has actually already opened voting: PUSH Best New Artist. nominations include AJ Mitchell, Arizona Zervas, Ava Max, Benee, Brockhampton, Conan Gray, Doja Cat, Finneas, Jack Harlow, Kiana Ledé, Lewis Capaldi, Lil Tecca, Pop Smoke, Roddy Rich, Summer Walker, Tate McRae and YUNGBLUD. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the award show will look different than in years past, but will not be held virtually. Earlier this month, governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo released a statement saying that in order to have the show in person, the event will follow all safety guidance including limited or no audience. The show will also feature performances will be broadcasted from all five boroughs of the city.
