Evan Peters, who is seemingly known for being type cast as the "boy next-door" murderer in a variety of roles on FX's American Horror Story, has yet again been cast as the creepy killer. Peters has now completely transformed into the role of Jeffrey Dahmer, convicted sex offender and serial killer for the Netflix 10-part limited series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

On Tuesday the 34-year-old was pictured on set in Los Angeles for the first time with bleached locks, looking incognito in a checkered button down and jeans, with large glasses similar to the original killer. The cast also includes Richard Jenkins as Dahmer's father Lionel, and Niecy Nash as a Milwaukee neighbor of Dahmer, Glenda Cleveland, who reported Dahmer to police for hi strange behaviors months before his arrest in 1991.

Peters is yet again working with American Horror Story writer and producer Ryan Murphy and three-time Emmy nominee Ian Brennan who worked with Murphy on Glee. In April, Evan Spoke to Variety on his tactics to approach portraying the murderer.

"You can have all the backstory you want, but at the end of the day, we're not making a documentary," Peters said. "It's more about maintaining the idea and the through line of why you're telling the story and always having that as your guiding light."

Dahmer's (known as the Milwaukee Monster) killing spree spanned from the 1960s- 1990s, was sentenced to 16 lifetime prison terms before he was killed by a fellow inmate in 1994. Five of Dahmer's 17 murders of boys and men happened after Cleveland had made numerous police calls to report him. The series is said to touch on white privilege after Dahmer's clean cut and race gave him a free pass repeatedly by cops and judges who were lenient with his charges for trivial crimes.

Previously Disney Channel's Ross Lynch portrayed Dahmer in the 2017 Hulu film My Friend Dahmer. Monster's approach is a psychological one with emphasis on how the murders were allowed to span for more than a decade. Peters revealed how knowing little on this character requires an authentic performance.

"But there's so much material for Dahmer that I think it's incredibly important to make it really authentic."
