Elton John will take one more trip down the yellow brick road that is performing on tour. The star just announced the show dates of his final journey.
Nearly four years after Elton John announced his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour," and after a global pandemic delay, the costume-composing spectacle has finally unveiled the closing stadium dates of that tour. The Honky Cat singer will make a final round trip from Europe to America, topping his glass off in New Zealand and Australia.
The road begins May 27, 2022 in Germany, then onto to North America, commencing in Philadelphia in July, and ending in November at the iconic Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, where Elton performed one of his greatest shows 47 years ago. We roll into 2023 with two shows in Auckland, New Zealand in January, followed by soon-to-be-announced dates in Australia before the tour concludes there later that year. The tour will end almost five years after Elton gave his opening show on September 8, 2018
In a message to his followers and fanatics on Twitter, Elton John said:
"Hello, all you wonderful fans out there. I'm coming to you today with an announcement I've been working towards for, well, all my life: the shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe. I'm going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I've ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career. Whether it's next summer in Frankfurt or at the legendary Dodger Stadium for the grand finale in the United States, I can't wait to see you all on the road one last time. This has been an incredible tour so far, full of the most amazing highs, and I look forward to making more wonderful memories with you at these final shows. To all my friends down under, We'll be seeing you too. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in your town."
While this may be the last tour Elton John gives, we certainly hope this is not the last time we get to see Elton perform. Public on-sales begin Tuesday, June 29 in Europe and Wednesday, June 30 in North America.
The tour dates are below.
