Some of Trump's biggest allies were included in the indictment, such as lawyer Rudy Giuliani and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows. The 41 counts also name lawyers John Eastman, Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, Jenna Ellis, and Ray Smith, among many others.

Trump Grand Jury In GA

All have been charged with violating Georgia's RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization) act. Trump himself was charged with felony racketeering, as well as several conspiracy charges.

"Trump and the other defendants charged in this indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump," the indictment reads.

The minimum sentence for the conspiracy is one year in prison, with the racketeering charge carrying a sentence of five to twenty years. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said at a news conference late Monday night that arrest warrants have been issued for all of the defendants, who have until August 25 to surrender voluntarily.

Willis has been the head of a two-year investigation into Trump's alleged “coordinated attempts to unlawfully alter the outcome of the 2020 elections.” She said that she intends to try all of the 19 defendants together.

The indictments focus on fake electors who worked on behalf of the Trump team — those who falsely claimed to be Georgia's official electors and signed certificates incorrectly asserting that Trump had won the state's electorates.

"The false documents were intended to disrupt and delay the joint session of Congress on January 6, 2021, in order to unlawfully change the outcome of the November 3, 2020, presidential election in favor of Donald Trump," the indictment continues.

The indictment is Trump's fourth in the past five months, as well as the second time in the past two weeks that the former president has been indicted for interfering with the 2020 election. He is currently the frontrunner for the Republican party in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
