On Thursday night, former president Donald Trump was booked at the Fulton County jail on charges of conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
Trump was fingerprinted and had his mugshot taken, which was released to the public shortly after. He and several of his biggest allies were charged with violating Georgia's RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization) act. Trump himself was charged with felony racketeering, as well as several conspiracy charges.

The indictments focus on fake electors who worked on behalf of the Trump team — those who falsely claimed to be Georgia's official electors and signed certificates incorrectly asserting that Trump had won the state's electorates. The minimum sentence for the conspiracy is one year in prison, with the racketeering charge carrying a sentence of five to twenty years.
The former president's bond was set at $200,000. Upon posting, it was revealed that Trump is working with a local Georgia bonding company to foot the bill. CEO of the Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Foster Bail Bonds LLC, Charles Shaw, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution company would be posting Trump's bond, raising red flags among financial experts.
Palm Beach State Attorney Dave Aronberg wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that it was a "somewhat surprising" decision, noting that "it means a $30,000 non-refundable payment to the bond company." Conservative lawyer George Conway said the move was "really puzzling," but suggested that it could indicate Trump "chose to have his PAC take the hit for the bonding fee."
"Why does a billionaire need the help of a bonding company?" national security lawyer Bradley Moss asked. "A man who owns resorts and a private plane can't afford a $200,000 bond?"
Another shakeup took place on X shortly after Trump's mugshot was released when the former president returned to the platform for the first time since January 8, 2021, when his account was banned following the January 6 insurrection attack on the White House. His account was reinstated by Elon Musk when he took over the company in late 2022, but he had not used it until Thursday.
Trump shared his mugshot to the platform with the words "ELECTION INTERFERENCE! NEVER SURRENDER!" just hours after he had surrendered.
