"Chucky" Television Show Comes to Two Networks

The "Child's Play" franchise lives on!

After over 30 years of the Child's Play franchise, director Don Mancini continues to create more Chucky filled content. A trailer for the new TV show, starring the crazed doll, has just been released.

Chucky Takes on Television

Last week, director Don Mancini took to Instagram to tell fans that a big announcement is coming up. In the comments, fans guessed that a TV show would finally be announced, with rumors about a new show began to circulate in February of 2018. At the time, Mancini talked about wanting to do an eight-part series with hour-long episodes. Chucky was last seen in a 2019 remake, titled Child's Play, which was a spin on the classic 1988 story, involving Artificial-Intelligence and a bit more technology.

"An evil too great to play on just one network"

On July 16, Mancini posted the first trailer for the new television series, Chucky. The show will air some time in 2021, on not one, but two networks- USA and Syfy. Along with Don Mancini, David Kirschner and Nick Antosca will both serve as producers. Fans are also happy to hear that Brad Dourif will be voicing Chucky's character again.

The trailer shows a silhouette of Chucky standing in a toy store aisle. In a synopsis posted by Syfy, we learn that the sinister Chucky will taunt the residents of a suburban town.

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town's hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky's past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll's untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

Look out for the Chucky television series in 2021!
