Last month Chrissy Teigen found herself in a bullying scandal after some of her old tweets resurfaced.

In addition to the tweets, model and singer Courtney Stodden, who uses they/them pronouns claimed that Teigen used to bully them in personal messages, saying things as brutal as that they should kill themself. On Medium earlier today, Teigen issued a long apology,

"As you know, a bunch of my old awful (awful, awful) tweets resurfaced. I'm truly ashamed of them. As I look at them and understand the hurt they caused, I have to stop and wonder: How could I have done that?"

Teigen was set to be a voice in the second season of the Netflix show Never Have I Ever but recently dropped the role after the scandal arose.

"There is simply no excuse for my past horrible tweets. My targets didn't deserve them. No one does. Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding and support, not my meanness masquerading as a kind of casual, edgy humor," she continued, "I was a troll, full stop. And I am so sorry."

Before this apology was released, Teigen had remained silent on social media for the past month since the accusations surfaced.
