The modernized spin on the Disney classic shows Cinderella as a seamstress opening up her own dress shop "Ella" in the opening of the trailer. "This is it," Cabello said. "Soon everyone will know my name... Life outside this basement starts right now," breaking into a new original pop ballad song.

It's clear the storyline of Cinderella will stray from the original outdated 1950s version of the film, with its eccentric costumes and pushing gender norms, but one thing in common is Cinderella's ambition to escape.

"Cinderella is a classic we all know and love, but this time with a modern unique twist and starring the sensational Camila Cabello and an all-star cast," Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke said in a statement. "Producer James Corden and the filmmaking team have taken this beloved fairytale and revamped it with a fresh, empowering perspective that will resonate with audiences and families around the world. We couldn't be more excited for our global customers to sing and dance along to director Kay Cannon's reimagination of this classic story."

The star-studded cast features Frozen'sIdina Menzel who will portray Cinderella's evil step-mother, Pose'sBilly Porter as a non-binary Fairy Godparent named Fab G, Mamma Mia's Pierce Bronson as King Rowan, Emmy nominee Minnie Driver as Queen Beatrice as well as James Corden as the mouse-turned-footmen and Missy Elliot as the Town Crier.
