Harvey Keitel is back on the scene... watch out!

Keitel's role as gangster Mickey Cohen in the 1991 film, Bugsy, garnered him an Oscar nomination.

The actor has also starred in well-known mafia films, including Quentin Tarantino'sReservoir Dogs and Martin Scorsese'sThe Irishman.

Now his new film, Lansky, gives an inside look into the life notorious crime figure, Meyer Lansky.

According to the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, Lansky was integral in creating the National Crime Syndicate.

"Meyer had no education. He was a brilliant boy, and he grew up, he and Lucky Luciano, to create corporations that rivaled US steel," Keitel said.

Lansky tells the story of David Stone, a writer tasked by Lansky himself, to tell the mobster's story before he dies and the FBI finally catches up with him.

"There are no mob films in my mind. There are stories that are told in a mob milieu, but these are stories about people living their lives nefariously or heroically, sometimes both," Keitel said.

The film was co-written and directed by Eytan Rockaway.

"Working with a legend like Harvey Keitel is just a privilege," Rockaway said

Lansky can be seen in select theaters and streamed on-demand now.
