Court Approves New Lawyer for  Britney Spears in Conservatorship Case

Britney Spears and Mathew Rosengart

All about Britney Spears's new lawyer in her conservatorship case.

A Wednesday court hearing gave Britney Spears a big win in her conservatorship case.

According to NBC News, in a hearing scheduled to discuss the departure of Samuel D. Ingham III, the court-appointed lawyer representing Spears in this case, the judge also confirmed the star's hiring of her own private attorney. Something she had been previously denied.

In Ingham's place, Spears has brought on Mathew Rosengart.

Greenburg Traurig, Rosengart's firm, describes him as "a former federal prosecutor, previously serving as a Supervisory Assistant United States Attorney and Justice Department Trial Attorney."

Rosengart is no stranger to high-profile clients and, according to Newsweek, he has formerly represented stars like Sean Penn, Steven Spielberg, and Kenneth Lonergan.

In addition to getting Rosengart's hiring approved by the court, in Wednesday's hearing, Spears herself once again spoke out against her father and his handling of her conservatorship.

"I'm here to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse," Spears said in court yesterday.

Following the court's approval, the pop star took to social media to express her excitement and gratitude.
