Mark Hoppus, the 49 year old vocalist and bassist of legendary pop punk band Blink-182, revealed that he has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

Hoppus first alarmed fans of his condition by posting a quickly deleted Instagram photo of what appeared to be a hospital room with the caption: "Yes hello. One cancer treatment, please" On the morning of June 23rd. Later in the day, he took to his Twitter with an official announcement.

His bandmate, drummer Travis Barker voiced his support by speaking to E! News, saying "Mark is my brother and I love and support him. I will be with him every step of the way."

Former Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge also acknowledged his one-time bandmate's condition on social media.

Hoppus plans on returning to the stage once he has gone into remission. The type of cancer nor its stage was not disclosed.

Blink-182 shot into fame with their groundbreaking 1999 album "Enema of the State", which contained hit singles "All the Small things" and "What's My Age Again?." Hoppus remains the longest running member.
