The 2000's pop-punk icon is back and better than ever!
Avril Lavigne has just released her seventh studio album Love Sux.
The 12-track album was produced by Travis Barker's record label DTA and features appearances from Machine Gun Kelly, Blackbear, and Blink 182 frontman Mark Hoppus.
Alongside Barker, who plays the drums on some of the tracks, Goldfinger singer John Feldmann and MOD SUN, Lavigne's current boyfriend, helped to produce the album.
Lavigne promoted the exciting release of her album on Twitter late last night writing,

This is Lavigne's latest album since she released her 2019 record Head Above Water, with former record label Elektra Records.
The rocker teased fans about the upcoming album on Instagram last week, sharing photos with Blackbear and Travis Barker captioning the post,
"ONE WEEK UNTIL MY NEW ALBUM “LOVE SUX” !!!!!! Who’s ready ?! 🧡🖤🧡🖤🖕🏻"
Back in November, Lavigne announced the news that she had signed with Barker's record label in an IG post of the pair writing,
"Let’s f*** s*** up! Just signed a record contract to Travis Barker’s record label DTA Records! Should I drop my first single next week?"
Sure enough, a week later, Avril released the first single off her album, Bite Me featuring Barker on the drums.
“I started talking to Travis in 2020, and then I worked on it all of last year,” said Lavigne about recording the album in an interview with Vogue . “I decided to make a fun rock and roll record. I was just not in the mood to sing ballads or mid-tempos—I was like, let’s just rock.”
While Lavigne writes about her experiences with love and relationships as an adult women on her newest album, she still wanted the album to be a "party" for her fans.
The album is light and happy, even though there’s songs about heartbreak and breaking up,” the singer told Nylon in another interview. “But it’s also anthemic, and it’s powerful, and it has a positive message for people to stand up for yourself, to have self-worth.”
“[It’s the album] I’ve wanted to make for my whole career.”
