The 2022 Billboard Music Awards are just shy of a month away. NBC revealed the first round of performers fans can expect to see at the May 15 award show.
Megan Thee Stallion, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Latto, Burna Boy, and Rauw Alejandro are taking the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas next month.
After taking home the Top Rap Female Artist Award at last year's ceremony, Megan Thee Stallion will finally make her BBMA performance debut. She's also nominated for top rap female artist once again.
Megan the Stallion and Latto are Top Female Rap Artist finalists alongside Cardi B. Latto, whose song "Big Energy" recently became her first Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit, received a star-studded remix with Mariah Carey and DJ Khaled.
Alejandro's performance will also mark the Puerto Rican singer's BBMAs debut, and he's up for four awards at the ceremony: Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Male Artist, Top Latin Album for "VICE VERSA," and Top Latin Song for "Todo De Ti."
Last week, it was announced that Mary J. Blige would be honored with this year's Icon Award during the telecast. The list of artists that have received the award include P!nk, Garth Brooks, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Cher, Celine Dion and more.
The "Good Morning Gorgeous" songstress will also grace the stage with a special, career-spanning performance of her own.
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards will air Sunday, May 15, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT live on NBC.
