Black Renaissance

As part of Black History Month, Youtube is presenting "Black Renaissance" with a slew of legendary guests.

Today YouTube revealed additions to its already-star-studded lineup for the new show "Black Renaissance" in honor of Black History Month.


The lineup features H.E.R., Anderson .Paak, Kelly Rowland, Stacey Abrams, Bob the Drag Queen, Ziwe Fumudoh, Maurice Harris, Yung BBQ, Nicole Byer, TwinsthenewTrend, Sherrie Silver, Oumi Janta, Donté Colley, and Hollywood Movement. These living legends will join the others that have been previously announced; President Obama, Michelle Obama, Jason Reynolds, Killer Mike, Desus Nice & The Kid Mero, Jemele Hill, artist Shantell Martin, and Tobe Nwigwe.

Black Renaissance will showcase prominent Black creators, artists, storytellers, writers, and legends who have altered the history of our nation, and lent an inspirational voice to the next generation of Black voices who will continue to reshape our future.

Watch as New York Times best-selling author and NAACP Image Award winner Jason Reynolds provides viewers with a journey through history with the help of the iconic group of special guests.

The Black Renaissance program is part of a partnership with Google Arts & Culture, which has served as a platform for sharing Black stories. The site is also offering an online resource for those seeking more information about Black history and culture within the United States. Visit the page here.

Additionally, on February 25th, YouTube will be launching a new episode of "BookTube". The episode will feature the principal at Black Futures Lab and a Co-Founder of the Black Lives Matter Global Network, discussing her book, The Purpose of Power: How We Come Together When We Fall Apart.

Black Renaissance helps to continue the mission of the #YouTubeBlackVoices Fund to emphasize the power, pride, dignity, and joy of Black voices. The special will premiere on Friday, February 26th, as part of YouTube's celebration for Black History Month. Watch the official trailer here.
