Women Make Film on TCM
Think there aren't many females sitting in director's chairs? Think again!
The new documentary; Women Make Film, takes us around the world to introduce us to the leading ladies of the movie industry.
The 14-hour documentary has now inspired a 4-month long film festival on the cable channel TCM.
Each Tuesday from September through December, TCM will show one part of the documentary, followed by an evening of female-made films.
Oscar winners Jane Fonda and Tilda Swinton narrate the event along with Debra Winger, Thandie Newton and others.
Among the films airing on TCM; The Hurt Locker from director Kathryn Bigelow. To this day, Bigelow is the only woman to ever win the Oscar for Best Director. Proving that the journey towards equality is far from over.
