Award winning actress Victoria Rowell is well known to fans of Daytime TV, so it is from experience when she states:
"There's never been any black-owned content in that space of daytime drama television and I'm hoping to be one of the first."
Victoria Rowell has a long résumé that includes work in film and television, however most remember her for her role as Drucilla Winters on the long running CBS soap The Young and the Restless. It was on the set of the show where where she personally felt discrimination and recognized disparity in the lack of African-American representation in the cast and crew. Victoria emerged from that experience as a voice for inclusion and diversity. As president of the production company, Days Ferry Productions, Victoria has several projects in full swing including the black content focused soap opera The Rich and the Ruthless and the interior design reality program Trash vs. Treasure. The show offers home improvement from the perspective of people on the lower end of the economic spectrum. Victoria remarks on the show's importance and how it "reflects what the world really is."
