Kim Kardashian claimed her viral "work harder" soundbite was taken out of context, but it looks like raw footage of her interview might suggest otherwise.

Kardashian gave an interview with Variety in which she said, "I have the best advice for women in business: get your fu**ing a** up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days."

People weren't thrilled by Kim's quote, which she then walked back in an interview with "Good Morning America's" Robin Roberts, saying it was taken out of context:

"That statement that I said was without questions and conversation around it, and it became a sound bite really with no context," Kim said. "In that sound bite, I came off of the notion in the question right before, which was, 'After 20 years of being in the business, you're famous for being famous.' And my whole tone and attitude changed with the previous question that went into that question about, 'What advice would you give to women?'"

Variety's Chief Correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister is pushing back on Kim's statement, sharing that "the question was very direct."

Meanwhile, Kardashian's advice was used to make a joke at the 2022 Oscars when hosts Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall jokingly offered advice to Dame Judi Dench after she lost the Best Supporting Actress Award to Ariana DeBose. Regina said, "Dame Judi Dench, we have an inspirational quote for you."

Wanda explained, "You know, because you didn't win tonight." Regina added, "A quote from Kim Kardashian... work harder. That's what we need you to do." Wanda then said, "You gotta move that a** Dame, you gotta move that a**."
