Toronto Film Festival Set to Operate During COVID-19

TIFF will still operate this year.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) recently unveiled plans for this year.

This year, TIFF will be a hybrid festival taking place September 10th-19th and will include physical screenings and virtual events. Awaiting approvals by the city and health officials, the festival plans to screen close to 50 films over the first five days. The festival will also host digital screenings, talks, and special events. Due to COVID-19, TIFF has reduced its full-time staff and is expected to experience a 50 percent loss in overall revenues this year.

TIFF is Back!

One of this year's film selections includes Bruised, highlighting the directorial debut of Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry. More films are set to be announced this summer. The event's ambassadors include Ava DuVernay, Taika Waititi, Anurag Kashyap, Nicole Kidman, Martin Scorsese, Nadine Labaki, Alfonso Cuarón, Riz Ahmed, Rian Johnson, Jason Reitman, Isabelle Huppert, and Claire Denis.
