It's that time of year again... The Super Bowl is right around the corner, which means we're gearing up for the highly-anticipated halftime show. In years past, countless A-listers have taken the stage, like Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Cold Play, and most recently, J-Lo & Shakira. This year, the halftime headliner will be The Weeknd.

The Blinding Lights singer will take front and center February 7th during the halftime show of the 2021 Super Bowl.

According to the show's producer Jesse Collins, the performance will be completely live.

He told Entertainment Tonight:

"We're not bouncing off to another stadium and then cutting in, like some people have had to do. We are fortunate enough in this situation that we are able to do a live, live show.

He continued on to say:

"It's got to be about entertainment from a truthful perspective. Get away from the massive sets, all the 'hoopla,' the flying this and that. And get to the core of what makes an artist special."

According to Billboard, The Weeknd has put $7 million of his own money into making his performance "what he envisioned."

When the headlining news first broke in November, The Weeknd said:

"We all grow up watching the world's biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position. I'm humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage."
