The Weeknd Shares 'Out of Time' Music Video Featuring Jim Carrey and 'Squid Game' HoYeon Jung

The Weeknd - Out of Time (Official Video)

Say goodbye to reality with the Weeknd and his guest stars.

Say goodbye to reality in the Weeknd's newest music video, "Out of Time."

The song is featured on his latest album, "Dawn FM", which released in January of 2022. The entire project features actor Jim Carrey, as he acts as a disc jockey for a purgatory-like setting. The opening track begins with the actor stating,

“You are now listening to 103.5 Dawn FM. You’ve been in the dark for way too long. It’s time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms.”

The video for "Out of Time" supposedly takes place in this purgatory. Wherever it exactly is, reality is warped. The video opens in a hotel where the Weeknd shows off his other celebrity guest: "Squid Game" actress HoYeon Jung.

The two are shown running into each other by chance initially, but quickly take off together for a night of whirlwind romance with dancing and karaoke.

Except the fun can't last forever, and the hotel setting quickly shatters, turning into a warehouse. The Weeknd is left alone surrounded by slaughterhouse curtains as blood pools on the floor. A new version of the Weeknd appears--one a few decades older.

The older man grabs the younger man, and assumes his place, as Carrey recites,

“There’s still more music to come before you’re completely engulfed in the blissful embrace of that little light you see in the distance.”

The video ends in a hospital room with Carrey's magnified face looking down at the camera.

The Weeknd hinted that "Dawn FM" is the second part of a trilogy that began with his 2020 album "After Hours"and will conclude with an upcoming, new album. Until then, you can catch him on his massive stadium tour, "After Hours Til Dawn".
