It's official! The Morning Show is returning!
Being one of the first shows to debut on Apple+, The Morning Show has been a realistic look into the challenging business of DayTime TV.
Stars like Steve Carell, Jennifer Aniston, and Reese Witherspoon had seasons one rolling, grabbing fans instantly. It was renewed for a second season after eight Emmy nominations and one win at the 2020 award ceremony.
After its massive success in season two, a new season only makes sense!
Earlier today, Reese Witherspoon tweeted:
We’ve got news... @TheMorningShow is back for SEASON 3!! Thank you to all who tune in to make this series possible. @AppleTV @hellosunshinehttps://variety.com/2022/tv/news/the-morning-show-renewed-season-3-apple-charlotte-stoudt-showrunner-1235150533/ …— Reese Witherspoon (@Reese Witherspoon) 1641844951
Witherspoon spoke to Extra last month, saying:
“I saw Jen Aniston last night,” the academy award-winning actress said. “We were talking about [The Morning Show season 3]. We’re so excited and we just love working together. It’s just a dream come true. We have known each other for a long time, but to be able to collaborate in a big way and really be architects behind the scenes is really nice.”
For season three, a new show-runner will be put in place. Charlotte Stoudt will replace Kerry Ehrin, who was the show-runner for seasons one & two. Ehrin will be a consultant on the third season while working with Apple TV+ on programming.
Ehrin spoke about her role to the Hollywood Reporter in the fall. She said,
“I just finished a season that has taken two years. I am just taking a break! (Laughs.) I do have a development deal [at Apple] and I am working on some other projects that I’m excited about. And, that being said, I love the show and I dearly love the cast of the show and I hope it continues.”
With a new show-runner and multiple (unexplained) plot twists in season two, fans are beyond excited for the upcoming season.
