Why 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Gives Rachel Brosnahan Nightmares

Amazon Prime Video

Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Miriam Maisel, recently opened up about why her hit show, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, gives her nightmares.

Brosnahan recently chatted with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show about her role on the Amazon show. Clarkson asked Brosnahan if it was true that the show gave her nightmares.

Brosnahan replied:

"Absolutely, if you've seen the show, as you know, it's a lot of dialogue. It's a lot of fast-talking. We have tons of dialogue and we don't always have a lot of time to memorize it." according to ET

Brosnahan added:

"I find that if I learn lines too late at night -- I do that terrible thing where you sleep with the script on your chest -- then I start running lines in my dreams, and so I start having stress dreams. I'll wake up in my dream and I'm on stage and I'm delivering these lines and I forget one. It's that naked in front of an audience thing, but my teeth fall out in my dreams." according to ET

Perhaps Brosnahan is more similar to her character in real life than people may think. In the show, it is shown that she gets extremely nervous for her stand-up acts. She faces these same struggles in her real life, trying to perfectly portray Mrs. Maisel.

Despite the nightmares she may have due to the dialogue-filled, fast-paced script, she executes the role seamlessly. Back in 2018, she was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

The fourth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel just began streaming on Prime Video with two episodes released on February 18th, 2022.
