Album of the Year - Fearless (2010)

When Taylor Swift won Album of the Year in 2010 for her second album Fearless (country), she had no idea that further accomplishments were going to come in her life. At the time, Swift was the youngest person to ever win Album of the Year at the Grammys, a title that now belongs to Billie Eilish, winner in 2020.

During her first speech, Swift can be seen visibly happy while saying:

"This is the story we're going to be telling over and over again: in 2010 we got to win Album of the Year at the Grammys. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

A joyful moment celebrated with the people she loved the most.

Album of the Year - 1989 (2016)

The second time Swift won Album of the Year was in 2016 with her fifth studio album (and officially first pop) 1989, but the mood was definitely different during this one. Swift revealed in her Netflix documentary Miss Americana (2019), the loneliness she felt as she reached such milestone.

"I remember thinking afterward.... 'Oh my God that was all you wanted: that was all you focused on.' You get to the mountaintop and you look around and you're like: what now?"

On top of that, West had just released the song "Famous" with the line "I made that b**** famous" referring to Swift. In her 2016 speech, Swift had given a message to the young women watching:

"There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going you'll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there and that will be the greatest feeling in the world."

After this victory, Swift's reputation started going downhill, but the singer took her narrative back with the seventh album, reputation where she told her own side of the story.....

Album of the Year - folklore (2021)

.... Which brings us to this moment where Swift made history winning her third Album of the Year with folklore (alternative), written and produced entirely in quarantine during lockdown. As soon as she is declared winner, Swift stands and hands shake with Jack Antonoff (producer along with Aaron Dessner) as she did back in 2016 with 1989.

folklore is the most diverse album Swift ever made. One that doesn't directly involve her personal life, but instead is written from the perspective of a great variety of characters. Dessner started thanking everyone who collaborated on the project, then Swift thanked her boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, who co-wrote several songs in the album like "Exile" and "Betty."

But there is something that all of the three speeches have in common: Swift's love for her fans.

"We just want to thank the fans: you guys met us in this imaginary world that we created and we can't tell you how honored we are forever by this."

Congratulations to Taylor Swift for making history once again and becoming the first woman to ever win Album of the Year for the third time at the Grammys.
