While production has stopped on multiple television shows due to coronavirus, our favorite stars are still gathering virtually to deliver a unique experience not always shared with the public. Here are some of the latest table reads available right now for our favorite shows of present and past.
Community
The stars of the beloved sitcom reunite through their screens since the series ended in 2015 to do a table read of the season five episode, "Cooperative Polygraphy." The table read benefited World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods and was followed by a Q&A with the cast and creator. It was perfect for the die hard Community fans longing for them to satisfy their "six seasons and a movie" promise.
Big Mouth
Table reads offer a completely new experience for an animated series. Being able to see the people behind the characters (and a brief peek into their homes) makes the show feel more personal, even for a show as vulgar and absurd as Big Mouth. Co-creator and star Nick Kroll gathered his myriad of talented voice actors to benefit Feeding America and provides the perfect outlet for those who binged the entire show and crave more middle school puberty content.
Dead To Me
To celebrate the release of season two on May 8, the cast of Netflix's Dead to Me united for a table read of the show's pilot. Now, fans can experience the feeling of being in the same room with the likes of Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as they transform into Jen and Judy in the dark comedy that has reached a wide and dedicated fan base.
The Nanny
While The Nanny may not be on television anymore, the cast reunited for a special "pandemic table read" where they read through the show's pilot. Fran Drescher currently stars on the NBC sitcom Indebted that came out in February, but no role will ever come close to the iconic Fran Fine.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
While not a table read exactly, the cast and crew of the beloved Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt have been delivering new content, despite the show ending over a year ago. To promote their new interactive choose-your-own-adventure style Netflix special, the stars united for an international singing competition based off of the songs from the show. If you have already played the interactive special for hours on end to get every ending possible and STILL hunger for more content, this is for you.
Be sure to keep an eye on the Netflix Is A Joke YouTube Channel for new content including more table reads, specials and behind-the-scenes content from everything funny from Netflix. Stars are constantly finding new ways to connect with fans during this time whether your favorites have off the air for years, in between seasons, or had to stop filming because of quarantine!
