The basketball drama is inspired by the early life of Kevin Durant, who also acts as an executive producer on Swagger.
In the early stages of his career, Durant grew up surrounded by families and coaches who would go to extreme lengths to help their children pursue their dreams.
The show focuses on the story of one player in particular, who has the drive and heart to make it big in the NBA.
O'Shea Jackson Jr. plays the head coach in Swagger.
"I think at its core, 'Swagger' is teaching, self love, self-confidence and also what red flags to look out for. You don't have to face the world by yourself if you got the right team and the right type of swagger behind you," Jackson said.
This role in particular carries a big significance for Jackson Jr., as his own father, Ice Cube, is the founder of the Big3 Basketball League.
"I don't think there's a day where me and my dad don't talk about basketball. It just comes naturally. He was my coach when I was a kid, I coached my little brother when he was a kid and so it's just a natural thing."
Also adding to the all-star cast, Quvenzhané Wallis takes on the role of Crystal in the series.
The actress made history as the first and only actress born in the 21st Century to receive an Oscar nomination.
While she's certainly talented, the star admitted that the basketball world was a little daunting.
"I saw basketball and I was like... 'Yeah I don't know about that.' I don't really play basketball, that's not my sport, that's not a skill that I really have."
Acting in the series as Musa, Caleel Harris also opened up on the amazing opportunity to learn from Kevin Durant on set.
"It was definitely cool. Kevin Durant... he's absolutely one of my favorite players and I think that's going to be a big draw and a big reason why a lot of people want to watch it. You'll always be able to find yourself in one of these characters."
