Celebrity Page, Soap Opera Digest

Actress celebrates thirty five years as Kayla, as well as new and exciting plots from Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful.

There's a lot to look forward to this week in our favorite soaps. Editorial Director of Soap Opera Digest Stephanie Sloane sits down with us to discuss an exclusive interview with Mary Beth Evans from Days of Our Lives.

It's been thirty-five years since Evans debuted as Kayla on the hit soap. She says that after all her time and experience, the thing that stands out most to her is how much her voice has changed. She even claims it's hard to watch old clips from the show because of how "airy" she sounds.

Evans says the questions she's asked most by fans are if her costar, Stephen Nichols, is a good kisser, and whether or not wearing his eyepatch for so long has affected his vision.

Evans also told us what she admires about her character and the similarities and differences between Kayla and herself. She admires how organized and smart Kayla is, but like the rest of us, agrees she could stand to lighten up. Evans says she'd love to have more comedic scenes in the show.

Also this week in the Young and Restless comes two spicy new storylines. Adam and Sally will reportedly make love, as baby Dominic deals with a health crisis. In the upcoming Bold and Beautiful, Rich and Deacon are set to have a dramatic showdown.
