SNL Recap: Adele Makes Iconic Return As Host and H.E.R. Performs

It was an iconic female duo at SNL this past weekend.

It's been five years since Adele has graced us with her beautiful music - and fans have had enough of the hiatus. But, lucky for us, we were able to watch her host Saturday Night Live last weekend. The combination of Adele and H.E.R. made it an amazing show - and if you missed it, here are some highlights:

"hello, it's me"

Adele opened up the show with an amazing monologue. These can be hits or misses - but Adele's was definitely a hit. She starts off to address the crowd by saying, "Hello, it's me" which refers to one of her several popular songs. She then goes on make a lighthearted joke about her recent weight loss:

"I know I look really really different since you last saw me. But actually, because all of the COVID restrictions and the travel bans, I had to travel light and only bring half of me."

She also mentioned that her album is still not finished, that being the reason why she wasn't the musical guest for the show. It may have broken our hearts a little bit, but at least we know it's on the way.

Adele sings iconic songs on 'The Bachelor'

In this sketch, Adele joins the highly praised show The Bachelor, where she competes for the heart of 'Ben K' against 'Hannah C' and and 'Hanna Alexis C.' But, every time she talks, she ends up bursting in song - in fact, these are her own iconic songs that we get to hear again. Not only is the skit funny, but Adele sounds absolutely beautiful - and viewers can get a taste of Adele nostalgia.

Bad fortunes for 2020

Picture this. It's the year of 2019. You have no idea what's in store for you in 2020. In this skit, a group of friends go to a psychic to see what their 2020 will look like - bringing lots of dark, humorous jokes about the past year. One of the friends asked the psychic if her and her boyfriend will be living together... to which the psychic said that yes, they would be living together - but she sees him washing a bag of Doritos with soap, with her screaming "I don't want to get it from a bag of chips!" The group clearly has no idea about COVID-19, so they are all very confused.

H.E.R. performs her song 'Damage'

H.E.R. is one of the grooviest and smoothest R&B singers in the game. She performed her song 'Damage,' as her music video for the song was released last week.

"Okay"

Chad (Pete Davidson) runs out of gas and finds himself in a haunted mansion - except, he's completely unfazed by the creepy and scary ghost that Adele plays. Maybe if we all acted normal when seeing ghosts, they wouldn't be so scary anymore.

SNL Halloween

So what's in store for this Saturday's spooky SNL edition? John Mulaney will be hosting and The Strokes will be the musical guest. So, take a little break the Halloween festivities to watch!
