In a surprise announcement, the cast of the Shadow and Bone series on Netflix virtually gathered together to share that they will be back for a second season. That's right Grishaverse fans - the stories of Sankta Alina, the Crow Club, and The Darkling will continue on-screen and promises to be back, bigger and better than ever.
The official series account posted the video on social media yesterday:

Stars of the show, including Jessie Mei Li, Ben Barnes, Amita Suman, Archie Renaux, Kit Young, Freddy Carter, Danielle Galligan, and Calahan Skogman were featured in a video together that shared their excitement about the news.
Executive producer and showrunner, Eric Heisserer, was also featured alongside the main cast, thanking watchers for their continued support and positive reviews.
The fantasy-drama series centers on the mythical kingdom of Ravka being disrupted by a massive storm called The Fold, and the magical powers of a young woman, Alina Starkov (played by Jessie Mei Li), who may have what it takes to unite her world.
Instantly a No. 1 hit on Netflix, the series was met with positive reviews from fans and ended with a monstrous cliffhanger that had watchers begging for more.
Author of the best-selling series and executive producer, Leigh Bardugo, took to Instagram to reveal her joy about the news:
"Season 2, here we come! I couldn't be more proud or excited. And so grateful to all of you for spreading the word and the Grishaverse love. NO MOURNERS."
Season 2 of Shadow and Bone will feature eight 1 hour-long episodes like Season 1. There is not yet a release date for the second season, but the show will follow Bardugo's second novel in the Shadow and Bone trilogy, Siege and Storm, as it combines with her other book in the Grishaverse, Six of Crows.
Season 1 of Shadow and Bone is available to stream on Netflix.
