Taylor Swift Joins A-List Cast of New Film

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is returning to the big screen! Check out the details for the new movie Canterbury Glass.

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has announced that she will be returning to the big screen in David O. Russell's latest film. This will mark her first onscreen appearance since 2019.

Swift has a long and distinguished history of acting, with film credits in The Lorax in 2012 and The Giver in 2014. However, after her role in the critically-panned adaptation of Cats in 2019, she began focusing more on her musical work. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Swift has published two zesty albums, Evermore and Folklore, both of which received universal acclaim. Despite her break from acting, she also released a series of concert films on the Disney+, Netflix, and Hulu.

Russell himself has not directed since 2015, when he released Joy, which starred Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro. His new film, tentatively titled Canterbury Glass, has been described as a historical comedy, but the details of its plot are being kept secret. The movie will be distributed by 20th Century Studios and stars Christian Bale, John David Washington, and Margot Robbie. Its release date has not been announced yet.
