Saved By The Bell Renews For Season Two! 📺

First up, Dexter is hitting the books for a new season of Saved By The Bell!

Darden stars in the Peacock reboot as Devante Young and shared his excitement on the show's second season renewal.

"To be on a show that gets two seasons, or multiple seasons and not cancelled after one, especially in a time like this when there's a pandemic... it's a dream come true in all actuality."

Dexter's Inspiring Role In 'Son of the South' 🎬

Darden also stars in the new film, Son of the South, as the late Civil Rights icon John Lewis.

The biographical historical drama film is based on a true story from the 1960's about a Klansman's grandson coming-of-age and advocating for social injustice during the Civil Rights movement. Darden shared:

"A lot of people know John Lewis because of his association with [Dr. Martin Luther] King [Jr.], but do you know everything that he was doing independently to start pushing for the Civil Rights movement? [He was] making sure everything in equality was a thing in the 50's, 60's and 70's and still to his passing."

Darden's connection to this role also comes from his own values as an advocate for the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

"It's important that we do recognize even though we are in a very, very, very rough time... especially coming out of 2020... the leaps and bounds of change that we have made. So it's important to celebrate the wins as well as the progression."
