Fans can vote for their favorite artist to be inducted starting April 30, online or in-person at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.
The Diversity of This Year's Artists
Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, John Skyes spoke of this year's nominees stating,
"This remarkable ballot reflects the diversity and depth of the artists and music the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates. These Nominees have left an indelible impact on the sonic landscape of the world and influenced countless artists that have followed them."
This Year's Nominees
Mary J. Blige is a Grammy and Billboard Music Award winning singer-songwriter, widely known for her hits "Real Love" (1992) and "I'm Goin' Down" (1994).
Carole King
Carole King is inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame, as well as awarded with five Grammys, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Grammy Trustees Award. On top of that, her life story was so inspiring that a Broadway show was made about her: Beautiful (2013-2019).
King is known for such hits as "You've Got a Friend" (1971) and "Jazzman" (1974).
Tina Turner
Tina Turner is inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame, along with four additional Grammys under her belt. Turner is known for her hits "Nutbush City Limits" (1973) and "River Deep Mountain High" (1966).
Jay-Z
Jay-Z is a Grammy award winning rapper, widely known for such songs as "Empire State of Mind" (2009) and "99 Problems" (2003).
LL Cool J
LL Cool J is a Grammy winning rapper, known for such hits as "Going Back To Cali" (1987) and "Doin' It" (1995).
Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan is a Grammy award winning musician known for "I'm Every Woman" (1978) and "Tell Me Something Good" (1974).
Dionne Warwick
Dionne Warwick is inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, as well as having three Grammys and being awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement in 2019. Her hits include "That's What Friends Are For" (1985) and "I Say a Little Prayer" (1967).
Fela Kuti
Fela Kuti was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist known for "Lady" (1972) and "Water No Get Enemy" (1975). The Lucille Lortel Award winning musician passed away in 1997.
Kate Bush
Kate Bush is a Brit Award winning singer-songwriter known for "Running Up That Hill" (1985) and "Wuthering Heights" (1978).
Todd Rundgren
Todd Rundgren is a previous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee for the Class of 2019. Rundgren is known for such songs as "I Saw the Light" (1972) and "Hello It's Me" (1972).
The Go-Go's
The Go-Go's are a Grammy nominated band widely known for their hits such as "We Got the Beat" (1981) and "Our Lips Are Sealed" (1981).
Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden is a Grammy winning heavy metal band known for their iconic songs such as "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (1982) and "Run to the Hills" (1982).
Rage Against the Machine and More
Rage Against the Machine is a Grammy award winning rock band known for "Bulls on Parade" (1996) and "Guerrilla Radio" (1999).
Along with Rage Against the Machine, Devo, Foo Fighters, and The New York Dolls are all nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2021.
Devo is a Grammy nominated rock band known for "That's Good" (1982) and "Girl U Want" (1980).
Foo Fighters is a Grammy award winning rock band known for "Everlong" (1997) and "Best of You" (2005).
The New York Dolls is an American rock band known for "Personality Crisis" (1973) and "Trash" (1973).
This year's inductees will be announced this May and the ceremony will be held this fall in Cleveland.
