On this day in 1980, Beatles member and music icon John Lennon was assassinated outside of his Central Park Avenue apartment. Lennon was shot four times and rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Since that December day, fans of Lennon have continued to preach his message of peace. There's no doubt that his impact on the world will be everlasting, and those who were close to Lennon are taking time to remember him today.
