Fashion expert and Queer Eye star Tan France, who was born and raised in England, announced on Instagram yesterday that he is now an American citizen. This marks a 20-year journey for France, and he snapped a few photos for the 'gram in the process.
The above post shows France taking his oath as the caption explains how becoming a citizen has been a long time in the making:
"For me, this is monumental. It's something I've been working towards for literally 20 years, which makes this all the more emotional."
France's husband Rob supported him at the Center for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The two snapped a pic in front of an American flag to commemorate the occasion. With his new citizenship, France promised he will support positive change in America:
"And now, I will exercise my constitutional right as an American. Today, I will register to vote, and vote for the change I wish to see in OUR nation."

France's post received love from his fellow Queer Eye cast members, as well as the likes of Courtney Cox, Mindy Kaling, Gigi Hadid and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
